  1. Dear students, since last week (Session 1) had focussed on small talks and informal work place interactions, this week (Session 2) will take a step further into the office space by discussing about more formal aspects at the workplace. Naturally, your first interaction with the prospective employer would be in the form of an interview. There are numerous dos and don'ts during an interview. Please go ahead and watch all the youtube video clips found here and get an understanding of the many aspects of job interviews. We can discuss any aspects of the interview as an when you feel necessary. Feel free to post any questions for the benefit of everybody here.

  2. Do we need to wait for the interviewer to ask about ourselves after we tell our names or we can keep telling abour ourselves?

  3. It's always polite to answer the question of the interviewer. We wouldn't want to be seen as being overzealous. Sometimes, we tend to be too excited by the occasion that we want to tell everything about ourselves without being prompted. Introducing yourself with some essential information is sufficient (But, never give one or two word answers only). Then, subsequent questions about yourself from the interviewer should lead you on.

  4. There's something called pre-, while- and post- interview tasks that every potential interviewee should undertake. The following link should be useful for that purpose. https://www.indeed.com/career-advice/interviewing/how-to-introduce-yourself-in-an-interview

  5. Okay I've watched all of the video soo cute just like the 80's

I think the best approach is the number 4 because she does reply to the conversations with confidence and project her words clearly. For me if you're in interview session those element plays important role in giving the interviewer good first impression.

okay regarding the videos, most of them sit inappropriately except that one guy with yellow shirt. So now i'm confused, which one is better static or comfort. I mean do we have to be THAT formal in interview session?

  6. Good observation, Faizal. It is important to project a sense of confidence (not overconfidence) during an interview. It goes to show how sure you are of yourself in answering the interviewer's questions. About the sitting style, well, I believe it's a little bit cultural (western against ours). In some cultures, sitting cross legged during an interview is OK. But, I feel in our context, it's important to project a certain degree of humility by sitting with our legs together and our palms placed firmly on our laps (except for the time when you need to illustrate certain things and use gestures).
